The Inglewood BIA received an ActivateYYC grant to fund activations in an empty lot along 9th Ave. The project began with engagement sessions where local residents were invited to brainstorm and share ideas for the empty lot.

After learning from residents, volunteers helped set up a variety of desired elements including tree and shrub plantings, entrance arch, bike parking, shade shelters, seating, barrier painting, and lighting. Jersey barriers were painted by local artist Corinne Dickson, and displayed local pollinators with beautiful naturally scenery.

After it was transformed into a usable and welcoming the space, the lot became an active space for holding gatherings and programming, including weekly markets and a winter festival.
