In summer 2025, the Inglewood BIA transformed an underused alley into a welcoming pocket park. By converting the alley into a place for gathering, play, and pause, the project helped improve safety while encouraging people to interact with the area in new and positive ways.

The initiative was rooted in community capacity, drawing on skills, ideas, relationships, and resources that already existed within Inglewood. With the support of 20–25 local volunteers, the project demonstrated how small-scale interventions can meaningfully shift how public spaces are experienced, turning a previously overlooked area into an inviting and active part of the neighbourhood.
