New Brighton Lemonade Stand

- Summer 2024
New Brighton Community Association created a community lemonade stand as a playful way to bring neighbours together. The stand officially launched in June at the Bell Tower, drawing in residents who normally walk past and spreading awareness about the project.
Designed to be both sturdy and mobile, the lemonade stand was built using lightweight materials that can be fully disassembled and transported from home to home, making it easy for residents to take ownership of the project. After launching, the stand was fully booked, with different households hosting it each weekend and putting their own creative spin on it. One family sold hotdogs and cupcakes!
One of the most memorable moments came from the first children to use the stand. Initially shy, they gradually grew more confident as the day went on, inviting passersby to stop, chat, and try their lemonade—sometimes even offering free samples just to share the experience. Watching their confidence grow captured the heart of the project: a simple, joyful initiative that builds connection.
